Every year, St. Barnabas hosts a variety of events and services leading up to Christmas. Some are modern, while some more traditional. Most are enjoyable for all ages! Learn more below and contact us if you have any questions.

Advent Spiral
December 1st, 5pm and 6:30pm, and December 2nd, 5pm and 6:30pm.

Adults and children are invited to walk the cedar-bough labyrinth to prepare for the coming of the light.

For this program, please email our family life coordinator Jasmin at familylife@stbarnabaschurch.ca to reserve your spot in one of the one-hour sessions! We have limited space, so please sign up as soon as possible with the exact number of people you would like to participate.

This is a quiet, meditative event. All ages are welcome. If you have a child under the age of 3, please determine if your child can be quiet for long enough to participate.

Lessons and Carols for Advent

Sunday, December 3rd at 7:30pm

A traditional service marking the beginning of Advent with traditional English carols. It is also a fundraiser for our music ministry, led by Kelly Charlton. Please join us after the service for seasonal refreshments!

Star Sunday
December 10th, 3 to 5:30pm

Star Sunday has become for many Victoria families their annual way to ‘kick off’ the Christmas season.  Come make your own Christmas presents and decorations, with beeswax candle-dipping; card printing; beading; bath salts and tea-making; woodworking; wreath-making; wooden candle-holder decorating; silk-scarf painting; and much, much more!

See photos from past years and learn more about the event on our Star Sunday page.

Christmas Pagaent
Sunday, December 17th, after Mass

Not your ordinary Christmas Pageant! We write and direct our own plays, helping the children to understand the birth of Jesus in the context of the Prophets and the whole of salvation history. But no matter how the story is told year to year, we always end up with all gathered around the Christ-child in the manger!  If your kids would like to take part in the Nativity Play, please contact Jasmin, the Community Life minister, or phone the office.
