Tea Talk: Trauma in Late-Medieval Florence

In this Tea Talk, Brian will take us through a unique manuscript by Domenico Lenzi, called Lo specchio umano (the Mirror of Humanity). The manuscripts were created in response to periods of severe famine and devastating floods in recent Florentine history.

This tea talk will focus on the illuminations in the manuscript, as they explore a late-medieval response to traumatic events that threatened peoples' social and economic well-being, and jeopardized their very souls.
