Safe Church training: Registration is now open for a second Safe Church training workshop, Tuesday, October 3rd, 6-9 pm, here in our hall. The purpose of the Safe Church Program is to ensure that our parishes are places of safety and wholeness for those who come to us seeking the love of Christ, and to ensure that all of our volunteers and employees are aware of their own personal safety and are equipped to manage their own personal risk. Safe Church training is a required by the Diocese (every three years) for ministry volunteers in positions of power such as parish council members, and for those working with children, youth, or vulnerable adults.  TO REGISTER: Contact the Church Office. Sunday Lunch in the Summer: There is now a paper sign-up sheet in the hall for setting up,  bringing a light snack, or for cleaning up, from now until September 3rd. Many thanks to all who contribute to this ministry!

Become a sidesperson at St. Barnabas: The ministry of welcoming people into our congregation on Sunday mornings is in need of a couple more volunteers. Please speak with the Rector if you are interested.

St. Barnabas Family Camp: August 31 – Sept. 3rd, on the Sunshine Coast. All members of the St. Barnabas Family are invited. Camp, bunk or stay in a near-by B&B. For more information, see the brochure at the back of the church.

Save the date! Sister Jeannie Lynne will be taking her vows on September 21st in the New Jerusalem Chapel at Christ Church Cathedral, 7pm.

Volunteers Needed at Food Bank: The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul needs volunteers at its emergency food location, 828 View St.  Duties include bagging dried goods and sorting and bagging fresh produce and bread. Shifts are 8:30 – 11:00, Monday to Friday. Regular and on-call volunteers welcome.  Contact Margaret Walters at 250-208-2555.

Youth Coordinator Position at St. George’s: The Parish of St. George’s, Cadboro bay, is looking for a part-time Youth Ministry Coordinator, to start in September. For more information, see the posting on our hall bulletin board, or contact St. George’s.
